Home for Christmas!

Over the last couple of weeks we have been planning our trip home from Rexburg, Idaho. Our original plans were to leave early Saturday morning around 6AM, however we learned of a large storm system moving in from Canada that was scheduled to hit around 11 or 12 Friday night. After much thought and prayer I concluded that our only reasonable option, to ensure our safe arrival home on Saturday was to leave Friday night. We decided to leave as soon as our white glove cleaning, finals, classes and check outs were done. We hoped that we could leave around 3 or 4 Friday afternoon, but we didn't get out of Rexburg until about 7pm. I rode with a friend of mine named Ned, and another friend named Cherean. We drove all night. Ned drove from 7pm until 3am, where I took over and drove from 3am until 7am(or 8am Nebraska time) We made it to Lexington to drop off Cherean around 8 in the morning, and arrived at my house at about 9:30am. We traveled through the Teton mountains with ease, it was slightly snowing, but was not sticking, and we were able to pass right through. The moon was bright, lighting up the road and illuminating our way. We were blessed with alertness so that we could continue to drive and arrive home with good time. It was truly an answer to our prayers. I prayed and fasted the Sunday before so that we could travel without encountering bad weather. Also an answer to my prayer of what to do, for if I had stayed in Rexburg I wouldn't be home yet. Then the prayer we said on our way out of Rexburg, for clear roads, animals to stay off the road, alertness, good time, good weather...we were very blessed and I'm very thankful that we are able to recieve answers to prayers. I'm so glad I listened to the Holy Ghost, and that we could return home in safety :)

That said, IT'S WONDERFUL TO BE HOME! I am looking forward to celebrating a wonderful Christmas with my family, and then returning back to Rexburg for another wonderful? semester of school! :D I can't wait to go back and catch up on everything with my wonderful roommates :) I might have a dull next week, mostly because mom, Sam, and dad will be working, and my siblings will be in school. And I will be carless :S I want to make it to Lincoln and see my friends...but I'm not sure that will happen either. I'm just happy to be able to relax for a little while! So, have a Merry Christmas, a happy new year, and I hope to see you all at some point in the near future! :D

Concentration

So, I have a TON of homework to get done today...and I CAN'T CONCENTRATE ON IT!!! I don't have any motivation to get it done! I've done well all semester, so not doing one or two assignments isn't going to kill me, right? No, I've got a problem. The majority of these are like 50 point assignments or more. I NEED to get them done!!! GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONE WEEK UNTIL I GO HOME :D! Just five more days of classes! I CAN DO THIS..........................i hope :S

well that's by little blog for the day :) Have a good day!

Come What May, and Love it

Well, this post was going to be me venting. However, I am going to turn everything I was going to complain about into something as positive as I can manage. Ok, so the dishes have piled up, the crumbs have been accumulated on the counters, the dishwasher remains clean and full for a whole day and the stove has splats on it that you have no idea what made it! Sounds frustrating? Well, only if you take it that way. I'm going to force myself to see it this way: I had such a wonderful and loving mother who took the time to teach me how to clean and how to keep a clean home, and now it is my turn to practice. At home it was easy to say "But he's (or she's) the one who made the mess!!!!" and they had to clean it up, or you were forced to and you did it grumpily. However being a "mature" college freshman (I don't know how mature they can be...) you can't say things like that. You leave things, hoping they will pick it up, and finally when it drives you insane enough, you practice the skills your mother has so lovingly forced you to learn. And you clean. You are frustrated and annoyed, and you are thinking, when I'm married it won't be like this! haha, yeah. I'm sure all you married people are telling me to think again. Instead it will be your husband leaving his dishes and mess around the kitchen, the kids will make messes and dirty the furniture and windows and doors, the food will be on the floor and everywhere that it doesn't belong. And I tell myself, at least then it's my responsibility. But, I'm practicing. I'm trying to put a smile on my face and remind myself that someday these people will learn to clean up after themselves. Maybe they will learn that when you have turned out the light and gone to bed not to come knocking on your door. Or maybe they will realize that you are sick of them singing the entire song on the top of their lungs that you happened to just make reference to. Maybe...but chances aren't very high. So instead: Come what may...and love it. So this is now my new goal. Come what may, and love it. (I don't know how well that "venting" went positive, but I'm a lot more relaxed now :D )

My Thanksgiving Break

So, for Thanksgiving I did a few different things. For the beginning of break I was at Tandy's house (my roommate) and we kinda chilled. We rode horses the first day I was there, stayed at home the 2nd day, went to church the 3rd day, went shopping the 4th day (and celebrated Tandy's birthday). Upon returning home the 4th day, the cows got out, so I went with Tandy and her dad and brother to chase them back in. That was fun :). Well, I really didn't do much. I almost died of asthma before I even got out to where the cows were, and by the time her and I did get there, they were almost in anyway. But it was entertaining. So on the 5th day (Tuesday) Tandy took me to Grace where I met up with my aunt Bridgette. I then went and stayed at her house. That night we celebrated my cousin Kambree's birthday. The next day I went to the senior center to get some service hours in. I got about 2 hours in when I had enough and took my first opportunity to leave. I was working putting pies together for people that had ordered them (there was a lot of pies) and I was working with a bunch of juvenile delinquents who were on probation needing service hours. So it was way weird. Then I went to my grandma's house and mowed her front lawn for her (boy am I SORE!). I then began to cut quilt blocks for her, before heading back to my aunts. I got about 3 1/2 hours of service done. I needed ten. Yep, I got a lot accomplished. I did however get my computer project done. That's a lot of relief. That was a big deal. I still have like 4 papers to write. One due the 3rd, one due the 4th, another due the 5th, and one or two on the 12th. Plus some more assignments in my computer and Book of Mormon class. So I'm gonna be busy for the next two weeks (but then I come home, so I'm excited!!)! Anyway, so on Thanksgiving we ate around 1pm, and then I worked on some homework. Then I went out and went on a 4-wheeler ride. And once we brought my uncle's wife and son back I drove (yep I drove the 4-wheeler for the FIRST time...and I absolutely LOVED it). We went and visited my great grandpa's grave. It was weird, because I went to his funeral when I was 2 and I can still remember standing there, everything seemed to be familiar. So then my cousin and I rode around some more, and then him and I went and visited my great grandma, which was interesting. I got confused quickly, but I pretended to understand. Anyway, so then today (the day after Thanksgiving) I went black Friday shopping. I got up at 3:20am so that we could leave by 4am. It was quite an interesting experience. I got the Christmas present I needed for a sibling, and I got a new flash drive...4 gigs for $9!! That's right, I got a good deal! haha, my old one is about ready to break! So now, I'm home (my apartment in Rexburg) and I'm sick (I got some nasty cold my little cousin Thayne had). I'm miserable, should be doing homework, but I'm seriously considering sleep instead. I can do homework tomorrow and Monday, and Tuesday before anything is due...right? I know it's gonna really stink once I get into it..but right now my body just needs to sleep. So I'm gonna take some nighttime cold medicine (ruin my REM sleep in the process--I learned about that in Psychology!!), and go to sleep! I'll do my homework in the morning. Since it's a little after 7, I'll probably get up around 8. It'll be a nice long sleep :) So goodnight world :)

So, I've been thinking! (surprised?) I was remembering all the fun times when I was little and me and my cousins, and even Alissa and Stephanie and Josh would play down in the playroom in grandma's old house, and I remembered the glowing eye ball bouncy-ball! It was such good times. And then we all started growing up. I remember Daniel leaving and returning from his mission, and I remember Josh being on his mission, and Alissa going to school. Stephanie graduating the same year (if not a month after) as Tyson, and Tyson going on a mission, Stephanie going to school. Sam graduated and left for his mission. Tyson came home, Sam came home. Alissa has graduated school! Josh and Alissa, Stephanie and Tyson have all gotten married (and I used to play with them!! :D) and now I'm graduated from H.S. and in college, along with Randall, Rocio, Tonya and soon to be Sam and Charity! It's absolutely insane how quickly time flies! The next 3 1/2 years of school are going to fly by! It seems like such little time, like nothing can happen! In the next two years I will either be married (or about to get married) or about to leave for a mission (which is what I'm planning on now). I could be an aunt!!!......or not. I don't know! It's crazy how much can happen so quickly! Those times playing in the playroom seem like only last year! Moving to Auburn seems only months ago! And now my family lives in a totally new location and I'm in Idaho! Crazy, huh? Well, I just am amazed at how much has happened, and how fast it goes by :) That's all I've got. I hope you were amused!!

Bad/ Weird Recurrent Dream

So I keep having this dream, and I don't like it! It's weird Because I'm at home, except in a house that isn't ours. And then there is this guy all dressed in black, and he has some kind of sword, and I have a straight sword, and then a curved one, they are both kinda shorter. Anyway, so I can usually kill him really quick, I just chuck the sword and stab him in the chest, but this time, he faked it going into him (I have NO idea how) and then he stood up, so dad came into the room and I left and went outside, but then I came back in, and was upstairs next to Austins room and he opened the door and I told him to be quiet and I saw the guy and I was going to have it timed right to chuck my sword and kill him, but Austin distracted me so then the timing was off and the guy had seen me and was coming up the stairs. And then I woke up.

According to what I learned in Psychology that guy would represent someone I'm upset with, but it can't be the actual person because my superego (I think) or maybe it's the id, would not allow me to kill an actual person, so it has to be disguised as a bad guy. But each time I have this dream it goes a little farther, and it's more difficult to kill the bad guy. I don't know. I just thought I would post it. It's weird, and slightly disturbing. Then I went back to sleep and had another dream that I had had before, but it went farther too. It was kinda placed at an assembly line factory, and I don't even know how to explain it. It was kinda weird, but it wasn't scary. :)

Dreams are stupid, anyway I'm enjoying break. I'm not getting much accomplished, but I'm enjoying it anyway :) Have a GREAT Thanksgiving!

The (hopefully) FINAL Schedule

So I finally finished registering for classes, and many classes I could not get, or decided I did not necessarily need, so now I have 13 credits :) That is MUCH better than 17! Anyway here's what my schedule SHOULD look like:

MWF
7:45-8:45 (Wednesdays only) Intro to Business Management
9-10am Book of Mormon (NO FRIDAYS!!)
11:30am-12:30pm Heroic Journey (don't ask me what it is, it's just required)
2-3pm University Band

Tues, Thurs
8-9:30am Writing Foundations
11:30am-1pm College Algebra

So it isn't AS bad, but I'll still remain busy, no more super easy classes. gah. Well I'm ready for the Thanksgiving break! YAY! Almost here! Well, I'm headed to bed. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY! :D

Am I INSANE!?

So, I register for classes on Monday the 17th. I've been working on my schedule for awhile now, and it seems that I am going to have 17 credit hours next semester. Is this going to kill me!? What is worse is that I only have 2 classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5 on Mondays, 6 on Wednesdays, and 4 on Fridays. On top of this I have church and my calling, my job, and hopefully a social life at some point. I can't seem to get any of my MWF classes to switch over to Tuesdays and Thursdays. Is this going to stress me out alot? Or do you think I can handle them all while still maintaining good grades? Here's my schedule:

MONDAY:
9-10am: Book of Mormon
10:15-11:15am: Writing Foundations
11:30-12:30pm: Heroic Journey
12:45-1:45pm: College Algebra
2-3pm: University Band

TUESDAY:
9-10am: Professional Communication Foundations
12:45-1:45pm: Developing World

WEDNESDAY:
7:45-8:45am: Intro to Business Management (aka my major)
9-10am: Book of Mormon
10:15-11:15am: Writing Foundations
11:30-12:30pm: Heroic Journey
12:45-1:45pm: College Algebra
2-3pm: University Band

THURSDAY:
9-10am: Professional Communication Foundations
12:45-1:45pm: Developing World

FRIDAY:
10:15-11:15am: Writing Foundations
11:30-12:30pm: Heroic Journey
12:45-1:45pm: College Algebra
2-3pm: University Band

So, do you think I am either insane..or on the road to? eeks! Anyway, so I'm stressed and don't know what to do. But that's basically all I've got! I hope all is well with you :D

OLD FASHIONED PICTURES!

These images were too funny to pass up. I used www.yearbookyourself.com to make each of these. Shaelyn reminds me of a picture that mom has of herself...!

Sam...haha, it's funny!!

Miranda! She's adorable, and she too resembles mom!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PICTURE! IT'S HILARIOUS AND IT MAKES ME SMILE! :D

And me...I don't know if I look like mom or dad, but it's me :D yay! I love them :D

It's going SO fast!

We are already in our second block of the semester. Once Thanksgiving break is over, there will only be two weeks of school left until I get to go home for Christmas!!!! It's going by soooo fast. My Psychology class is amazingly difficult, but what can you do? This Thanksgiving break I am spending the first part of it with my roommate Tandy at her house, celebrating her birthday! She is way fun and we get along great! Then I think I am going to Preston for actual Thanksgiving and will be looking for 10 hours of service! I need it to pass one of my most pointless classes ever! However I am definitely enjoying Rexburg. It's getting cold, and the snow has begun, but not much is on the ground yet. I have been having problems with my back and neck and will be seeing the Chiropractor several times a week for some time. Thankfully my insurance will cover it completely so I can get my back fixed and still be able to afford the necessities (a.k.a. food). I eat a lot. I probably should watch that a little, but what else can you do when you have nothing else to do at 10 at night?? haha. I am working at a place called Western Wats. It is...fun? Well as long as I keep a positive attitude it is ok, but basically I make phone calls around the country to give out surveys on different topics. I've only been chewed out a couple times ;)

Well I guess that is all I have to say.... I think I will post some pictures for you to see!!!
These are 5 of the 6 cousins out of high school! WE ARE ALL GETTING SO OLD ;), well we are growing up anyways ;) And below are 3 of my 5 roommates, the got in a chocolate fight, it was a mess, but was quite entertaining to witness! On the left is Tandy, in the middle is Cassie (she's engaged to be married in December!), and my room roommate Erin!

BLOG 1 (for the lack of a better title)

Well I'm at college, and I absolutely love it. I love my classes and instructors, and I love my roommates most of the time! ;) The only times I don't like them is when I'm tired, want to go to bed and they still have lots of energy!! I still haven't met too many new people. But I'm being patient and still trying to get to know people. But I love the spirit here on campus! It's amazing and I love the combined spiritual and secular learning!! I do really miss being home sometimes, but I am learning a lot! Both in school and in the apartment. I've been pretty good at keeping my room clean and eating regular meals...sometimes it gets late before I remember that I still haven't eaten dinner, but I am staying fed :D But that's just how college life is so far! I enjoy it lots and lots!!!
